GM asked Blockdot to drive its Cobalt line of cars into the spotlight...and we took them on one heck of a ride!

The Fun Stuff
Blockdot's creative and technical cyber-mechanics built Chevy Cobalt Labs, a social media application filled with turbocharged fun:

  • Tricked or Trashed: It's a battle for braggin' rights for the best Cobalt on the site. Got what it takes to win the T o' T competition?!
  • Mod Street: Break out the virtual tools and design your own tricked-out Cobalt
  • Street Showcase: Post up those sweet pics of that virtual ride you created in Mod Street
  • Track Challenge: It's so ON in Track Challenge! Race your customized Cobalt on some spectacular tracks and blow away the competition
Users can cruise to www.chevycobaltlabs.com and set up a free account, then steer down a superhighway that's revved-up with a hipster attitude!

The Results
A robust interactive experience! Features include multiplayer gaming capability (utilizing Adobe Flash Media Server), a server side compilation of JPEG images that allows for quick public browsing of user-created Cobalts, and a virtual economy with monetary units that can be used to purchase upgrades for those vehicles. It's the ultimate hotrod of a web site!
