Client: GlaxoSmithKline
Project: my alli
Here's the Rub
When pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline was ready to launch a new website related to diet and weight loss (myalli.com), Blockdot had the perfect plan: A suite of engaging games that could inform as well as entertain—but without minimizing the seriousness of GlaxoSmithKline's message.
The Fun Stuff
In the "Perfect Plate" game, players drop food items from a virtual refrigerator on to a plate and try to create the 'Perfect' balance between low-fat and low-protein items. The second game in the suite, "Trigger Happy", reminds and educates the user which 'triggers' could activate a poor choice when dieting.
"By the Numbers," the third game in the serious game suite, is a variation of the extremely popular
Sudoku puzzle engine. While the user is solving the puzzle, they are gently reminded of all of the different 'number' combinations that play into their new diet plan.
The Results
A suite of games that's fun to play, yet layered with information consumers will value. Blockdot struck just the right tone between promotion and education.
